Welcome to Third Grade!

Dear Third Grade Families,

Welcome back! We have exciting things planned for the 2024-2025 school year. There are two third grade homerooms this year. Mrs. Dionne is in room 39, and Mrs, Mayo is in room 40. Our ‘wing’ can be found on the second floor, on the left hall off of the library. Classes may mix for group work during instructional periods, so your student will get to know several teachers.

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 28th. The school will provide lined paper, crayons, and other school necessities, but please send your child with a water bottle and a simple home folder (no three-ring binders please). This folder will be used to send important notices and graded work home.

We invite families to join us for a Back to School Night on ____Date TBA____ from 5:00-6:00pm. Students who attend will see their classroom in advance, find their cubby and desk, grab a weekly Unified Arts schedule, and introduce their teacher to their parents.

Click here to see a tentative weekly schedule. Please be advised that the first weeks of school will look a bit different while we complete assessments and play get-to-know-you games. Our lunch and recess period is 12:20-1:25pm. We have a mid-morning snack break when students are encouraged to bring in healthy, low-sugar items, such as veggies, fruits, and other unprocessed foods.

I am excited to get to know your child. We are going to have a great year of exploration, equity and joy together.
